First go at rendering with Mental ray, pretty excited about the results!

First proper render using Maya software renderer.

Bus now in colour

With just a few more tweaks to go, I couldn't resist adding a bit of colour to the bus. Its a based on the classic VW colour scheme of Palm Green / Sand Green.
Final modelling touches included exposed cargo door hinges, rear light clusters and number plates and mirrors. So onwards to texture, light and render!

More bus progress

More progress, windows further defined, reworked front wheelarches. Airvents, nose badge, door handles and Towel rails on bumpers added. Wheels detailed.

I've really been enjoying the work of Eric Carle and discovered a great book about his life at work at my local library. Here are a couple of 'Carle' inspired collages i've been working on today. Very exciting to be working with paint, paper and glue rather than pixels for a change!
