Snowshill

A recent visit to the beautiful Snowshill manor in the heart of the Cotswolds. It was owned by Charles Wade, a nutty old excentric who filled his house with his collections of bicycles, samurai armour and old toys. Eventually, with no more room in the house to actually live, he had to move out into an annexe.

Nyman's Gardens

I saw some great stuff at Nymans gardens. The house itself is a ruin but little bits of its original beauty remain. The gardens were are fantastic too.

Esterel

I really enjoyed our brief sojourn in the Esterel mountains in the South of France. The quality of light is really inspiring, the warmth and smell of the wild plant and flowers.

Weald and Downland

I love visiting the Weald and Downland Open air museum. Nestled in an unspoilt corner of the South Downs, its one of the most inspiring and beautiful places to wander around in, daydream and get lost in.

Taken from my window this morning. Looks like the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness is upon us.

Orkney 2006

Happy New Year to one and all!
Just back from a Christmas in the wilds of Westray, an Island in the Orkneys, off Scotlands Northern coast.
The Weather was bright and we were surrounded by so much natural beauty! More pics to follow.
