Battle of Hastings, 1066

Last week saw the anniversary of the Battle of Hastings. I jotted down these guys as quick pencil sketches before working them up in Flash, using a simple brush and bucket fill. Top is the victor, William the Conqueror, then Harald Godwinson, and finally, Harald Hardrada. Hope you like them!

Finished renders of the Warhammer Bolter. I've spent a bit of time on this one laying out the UVs and adding textures and bump maps.

Warhammer 40k Space Marine Bolter

Another childhood inspired model, this time from the Warhammer 40k universe. Great fun modelling, particularly the pistol grip and the rifle grip. Trying out and Ambient Occlusion node on a lambert material for a work in progress render. Learnt alot on this one!

Drink yer grog, Matey!

My sons and I were really inspired by the fantastic Jonny Duddle Pirate books. Heres a Pewter tankard modelled after one used in the book. I used a great feature which allows you to import shapes drawn in Photoshop into Maya. The skull emblem was then extruded and wrapped around the tankard using a Bend modifier
